The story of the No Sex collaborative video: Maggie Walters is a critically acclaimed singer/songwriter and recording artist living in Austin, Texas. She wrote the words to "No Sex" to describe one of her early experiences in the recording studio. Guðrið Hansdóttir is a songwriter and performer living in the Faroe Islands, a cluster of 18 small islands, way out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, between Iceland and Scotland. Her last album became the bestselling CD in the Faroe Islands and was awarded the Faroes' Planet Awards Album of the Year. Hansdóttir discovered and contacted Walters through a grassroots project called HOS, whose mission is to link songwriters from two different countries, bringing Hansdóttir to Texas. When they met in South Austin for the first time, Walters brought her lyrics to "No Sex," and sang them to Hansdóttir, who began playing the acoustic guitar part for the verse. It came together so nicely they decided to record it before Hansdóttir would be going home to the Faroe Islands. Walters then recorded the other instruments, finished the song, and gave it to Butthole Surfers' guitarist Paul Leary to play sex guitar and mix.
